Supervisor – Accounts Payable
The Accounts Payable Supervisor oversees the AP team and ensures efficient, accurate invoice processing through advanced automation tools, including OCR technology. This role drives continuous improvement in AP workflows, maintains compliance, and optimizes automation systems to support organizational goals along with aiding vendor disputes and escalations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coach AP team members, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Manage invoice processing, workload allocation, and vendor escalations
- Oversee AP automation tools and OCR systems, collaborating with IT and vendors
- Prepare AP performance reports, KPIs, and audit/month-end reports
- Develop and document AP policies, procedures, and training materials
- Resolve AP account issues in collaboration with other departments
- Reconcile AP clearing accounts, internal charges, and outstanding PO lines
- Support other finance functions during peak periods
- Lead system upgrades and process optimization projects
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting
- 3+ years of accounting experience, primarily in Accounts Payable
- Supervisory or managerial experience
- Experience with AP automation and OCR technology (preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF statements)
- Knowledge of D365 Finance & Operations, AS400, and transportation management systems
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to adapt, multitask, and work under pressure
