Loss Prevention Supervisor, Asset Protection - Interim for 6 months

The Loss Prevention Supervisor, Asset Protection (AP), supervises the Asset Protection team and manages Loss Prevention programs to protect premises, people, assets, and facilities.
 
The Supervisor ensures the Asset Protection team assesses, designs, sources, and deploys security solutions aligned with industry practices. These systems include intrusion alarms, video surveillance, door and lock hardware, glazing, perimeter protection, access control, key control, electronic article surveillance, and life safety programs.
 
The Supervisor ensures that physical and systems security standards are maintained and that best practices are applied to all projects and recommendations. The role also ensures team processes follow service level agreements (SLAs) and meet target metrics.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Protect company assets and reduce losses.
  • Assist in selecting and training Asset Protection team members.
  • Lead and supervise Loss Prevention personnel in physical and systems security initiatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with company management, staff, and external agencies.
  • Manage Asset Protection team goals to meet company Loss Prevention objectives.
  • Complete payroll and administrative tasks according to company policies.
  • Ensure proper deployment, use, and maintenance of security systems.
  • Deliver physical security training programs to the Loss Prevention department.
  • Operate the Loss Prevention physical security audit program (C Checks) for all locations.
  • Manage technology initiatives to meet current and future strategic imperatives.
  • Complete performance and budget reports.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise Asset Protection resources and equipment to ensure safe, legal, and ethical use.
  • Represent Loss Prevention objectives at interdepartmental, project, and management meetings.
  • Deliver loss awareness programs to protect employees, customers, and the London Drugs brand.
  • Liaise with public safety authorities, local law enforcement, vendors, and security professionals.
  • Carry communication tools and respond to after-hours emergencies as required.
  • Lead investigations in collaboration with Loss Prevention teams.
  • Travel to company locations and industry events as required.
 EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge of security best practices, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Understanding of provincial licensing and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
  • Security industry management experience is an asset.
  • Security-related education or accreditation (e.g., LPQ, APP, PCI, CPP) preferred.
  • Education or experience in physical security or construction.
  • Strong understanding of security assessments and systems design.
  • Experience deploying security in retail and commercial settings is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of architectural hardware, intrusion systems, fire alarms, video surveillance, access control, and asset tracking.
  • Familiarity with security alarm monitoring and access control system software preferred.
  • Provincial security worker license required; Security Consultant preferred.
  • Experience in coaching, conflict management, and negotiation.
  • Familiarity with physical security audits and risk assessments.
  • Understanding of security systems integration and basic network design.
  • Completion or enrollment in London Drugs leadership workshops.
  • Completion or enrollment in London Drugs LP training program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; AutoCAD is an asset.
  • First Aid and WHMIS training.

This is a full-time 6 month Interim position that requires the candidate to be available to work a flexible schedule Monday through Sunday, including evenings and weekends.  

This position requires a valid class 5 driver’s license as some travel will be required at times.
