Shift Leader

This is a leadership position responsible for the effective and efficient operation of each shift.  Shift Leaders are required to perform all functions relating to merchandising, customer service, and general store operations.  This position is expected to work primarily late shifts and weekend shifts, or as dictated by business needs.

Responsibilities include:       
  • Maintain the professional image of the store and the company.
  • Provide all records and/or reports required.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of each shift’s goals and tasks for the unit.
  • Communicate to all employees on shift the necessary information to enable them to do the job expected in a positive manner.
  • Have replenishment systems utilized effectively to ensure adequate inventory to meet customer requirements.
  • Read e-mail and ensure counts and recalls are done on time.
  • Be familiar with W.C.B. and other forms as required.
  • Responsible to maintain the smooth operation of the front end as per Company standards and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring ongoing communication with store management and shift leaders.
Education and Knowledge:
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of merchandising.
  • Experience in a customer service role.
  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of desktop PCs and Windows-based operating systems.
  • Must have good understanding of relevant technology used for the business.
  • Will take necessary technical and product training as required.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain Level One First Aid certification and Automated External Heart Defibrillator (AED)
  • Management is to complete LP Awareness Training at prescribed intervals.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills when dealing with customers, staff & management.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
  • Professional image, reflecting positively on the company.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask effectively and work under changing priorities.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, within a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of merchandising.
  • Experience in a leadership and customer service role.
  • Display a positive, mature and professional leadership style.
  • Knowledge of desktop PCs and Windows-based operating systems.
Employees must be available to work a flexible schedule, Monday through Sunday,  day and evening shifts.
