Personal Lines Insurance Specialist
 
This position will require the insurance specialists to utilize their knowledge of insurance policies and markets to evaluate, recommend and sell plans to customers based on their needs.  It will involve communicating with customers to match the customer’s needs, processing paperwork, and ensuring existing customer information is up to date.    

Preference will be given to applicants with a level I, II or III general insurance license (NOTE:  Provisions may be made to sponsor a suitable candidate for licensing). A solid understanding of home, auto, and general insurance products is beneficial, but not required.

Additional Responsibilities include:
  • Service on-going client needs, advise on insurance matters, conduct needs assessment, recommend solutions, answer inquiries, conduct care calls and process renewals, endorsements, cancellations.
  • Sell new policies/write new business to existing or new clients, retain existing book of business.
  • Ensure that all new business quotes/policies are accurately recorded on the most current new business report, including lead information.
  • Prepare documentation for insurers, complete applications for clients, issue insurance certificates, process changes and review renewals.
  • Attend product knowledge seminars as directed by the Personal Lines Manager and Business Unit.
  • Promote London Drugs in the community as a place to shop and a place to work.
  • Ensure quality and service levels are maintained to Company standards.
  • Ensure license is maintained in good standing and all necessary continuing education credits are obtained.
 
 The successful candidate will have the following: 
  • Excellent communication and telephone skills. 
  • Strong selling skills. 
  • Highly organized and able to multitask effectively and work under changing priorities.
  • A level I, II or III general insurance license 
  • Solid understanding of home, auto, and general insurance products 
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency. 
  • Attention to accuracy on all documentation. 
  • Able to use good judgment and reasonable care when dealing with customers, confidential information and sensitive situations.  
For more flexibility this is an RPT position, where employees are scheduled a minimum of 1456 hours per year, up to 40 hours as needed.  Employees must be available to work a flexible schedule, Monday through Sunday, daytime and evening shifts.
